Benchtop HiFi platform

Vega: accessible HiFi sequencing

Vega is the first benchtop sequencer with PacBio HiFi technology. The same long reads and 99.95% accuracy as Revio, in a compact format. Perfect for smaller projects and accessible to smaller laboratories too.

  • 300 Human genomes per year
  • 1 SMRT Cell
  • Q33 High HiFi accuracy (99.95%)
  • 90 Gb HiFi data per run
Key advantages of Vega

Easier access to HiFi technology

HiFi technology on your bench

The first benchtop long-read sequencer with 99.95% HiFi accuracy. The same data quality as Revio, in a format that fits into an ordinary laboratory.

No waiting

One SMRT Cell per run, with no waiting for a pool to fill. The next run can be set up in advance for continuous operation.

On-instrument analysis

Base calling, HiFi read generation, methylation detection and export to BAM all take place directly on the instrument.

Plug-and-play installation

Standard 230 V power supply and 1 GbE network. Intuitive workflow with minimal risk of error.

Compact sequencing data

Efficient storage of sequence data, quality values and methylation at approximately 0.5 bytes per base, up to 20× more compact than other long-read technologies. Output of approximately 30 GB of data per run.

The quality of HiFi technology

HiFi — long‑read accuracy on par with short reads

Circular consensus sequencing (CCS) reads the same native DNA molecule repeatedly and builds a single, highly accurate long read from it. No PCR, no systematic errors.

Read length up to 25 kb

Libraries from 0.5 to 25 kb. They cover entire genes, regulatory regions and structural variants in a single read.

Read accuracy

Thanks to repeated reading, accuracy reaches 99.95% (Q33).

Reliable phasing

Phased haplotypes directly from long reads: complete information without additional analyses.

De novo assembly

De novo assembly with quality comparable to reference genomes, including repetitive regions.

Handles complex regions

Resolves highly homologous regions, segmental duplications and centromeres, where short reads fail.

Native methylation in every run

Detection of 5mC, 5hmC and 6mA directly from native DNA. No bisulfite conversion needed.

Epigenetics and methylation

5mC in CpG context and 6mA from native DNA in every standard run. Mapping of chromatin architecture.

Q3/2026

SPRQ-Nx — the new sequencing chemistry!

Vega uses the new, improved generation of SPRQ chemistry, which increases the output from a single SMRT Cell from 60 to 90 Gb.

Library preparation and workflow are fully shared by both PacBio sequencers. What works on Revio also works on Vega: compatible reagents, kits and analysis pipeline.

↑ Output
More HiFi reads from each SMRT Cell
↑ 5hmC
Hydroxymethylation detection
↓ Cost
Lower cost per genome
Q33
HiFi accuracy maintained
